Lady GaGa has been announced as the recipient of this year's 'Fashion Icon Award' by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The weirdo star will be honoured "for being a fashion revolutionary impacting style today" at the 2011 CDFA Fashion Awards in June.
The singer has frequently hit the headlines for her unique fashion choices on stage and on the red carpet, including the dress made entirely from raw meat she wore at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010.
Previous recipients of the 'Fashion Icon Award' include Iman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Kate Moss.
It was also announced that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who founded fashion label The Row, have been nominated in the 'Swarovski Award for Womenswear' category, which recognises emerging talent, and that Marc Jacobs will be honoured with the 'Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award'.
The nominees and honorees were revealed by CDFA President Diane von Furstenberg and executive director Steven Kolb at an event in New York this week.
The winners will be announced at a gala in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Centre on June 6.
