If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.
Actually, it was an exceptional situation. As you are well aware of, we had to get an unanimous consent if the skil bill were to pass in the LD, so, we needed to have Session's approval. To deflect the situation, he just said that his office hadnt received any positive comments.. When we ended up jamming his phones and gave all the positive comments, what came out of that, nuthing.. he did not budge from his stance.. It was just a ploy and even if the entire US of A had called him, he would not have changed his stance.. He had to score brownie points from his supporters. He knows that the Skil bill will be passed next year, and may be some form of CIR even.. He can then blame it on the democrats and stand for re-election in 2009 with complete support from his supporters..
Its all a gimmick for votes. This is politics, same thing in every country, just more sophisticated here...

You are talking about 2004, 05. What about 2001, 2002 and 2003? There are so many people with 2002 priority dates still waiting just like me. Mine is 02/2002

Simple reason USCIS will tell you/senator/judge/anyone who really seek the resolution of our loooooong delayed cases is.....case is in security/background/additional review checks.....so everyone will shut their mouth and forward this message to the concerned person.....

Guys everybody has a story, in my area Labors were getting cleared in less than 1 month in mid of 2003. When my attorney filed my labor and we didn�t hear on it for 3 months, my Attorney called up the local labor dept. they told him that the person who used to do foreign labor certs met with an accident and is on extended leave, It took 13 months for the local office, by that time BECs were born, retrogression�..

For all those who are waiting...I would suggest one more thing, if your file is not touched. My lawyer had sent an email to NSC on Aug 2. I believe that along with my SR might have done the trick.....Sheela Murthy was my lawyer....that too might have helped....Who know what works....but we can all try.....Hope all who are stuck, get their GC by end of this month.

I will donate 100 dollars if they make any changes in DREAM Act wrt to Employment based immigration.
Even I participated in the campaign, but I don't think it will impact anything for us.

No business works like that. we don't have a charge card to dispute transactions.

Everyone here on this forum understands the frustration of H4 limitations.
However, to say that IV has not done anything beyond media publicity is far from truth.
I hope that you read the "Amendments" link on the homepage(top).
These amendments sponsored by Sen. Brownback and co-sponsored be Sen. Alexander and Bingaman DID NOT HAPPEN AUTOMATICALLY.
And they did not come from other organization or lobbying firm. They were introduced to the comprehensive bill on April 7(Just before recess) SOLELY due to efforts of IV, QGA, AAPI and the good staff at Brownback's office.
I have to point this out because by saying that "IV has not done anything besides media publicity" is not true and it discourages people who have spent hundreds of dollars of OWN money to travel to Washington DC and lobby for these amendments. On top of that, core group members HAVE taken UNPAID TIME OFF FROM THEIR WORK to travel to DC. These things are not easy to get done. Unfortunately there is a partisan env now in Senate and the Comp bill's future is uncertain but had that bill been passed in Senate, it would have had amendments that come from nowhere else BUT Immigration voice.
So please be kind to the group and have patience. H4 applicants have a bad situation, but there are some in our membership who have been laid off after 6th year and are looking to go back to India as their current employer would withdraw the pending labor. So these guys are GOING BACK to country of origin along with their H4 SPOUSES. Things could be a lot worse and one should be mindful that everyone has problems in their lives.

I have a electronic mail from them with the 140 receipt Notice (as PDF)
from USCIS.. I took the LIN number from there and Queries USCIS - they says USCIS received my App on May 15th and under processing....
I took a Print out of that 140 receipt Notice and will attach with 485 Application... My approval will not come before Jan-Feb 2008.
But don't you need copy of 140 also?

No mine did not say that for myself or my husband. It just said approval notice sent. It still says the same thing it has never changed or been updated. It could be there system- who knows! I hope you get yours soon! Keep me updated.
It says approval notice sent? Do they send an approval for 765/EAD? I thought they would just send the card directly? Anyway, my spouse's ead says card in production and you should get it in 30days. Mine still says case recevied on Aug 31 and notice mailed out... But LUD on both applications is today...Will keep you posted...
