Folks, when you send/ask about details, it'd help if you could post your details like this (format borrowed from another post):
Here are the details:
Mailed to NSC on May 31st.
Received at NSC on June 1st.
Transferred to TSC (I-140 was Approved from TSC)
Receipt Date - June 01
Notice date - June 08
My 485 was filed with NSC on June 1st. It reached NSC on June 4th. We haven't received any receipts so far. I think NSC is still working on June 1st cases. Maybe I need to wait for one more week atleast

I feel more H1b visas alone and/or nurses visas only would actually be bad for us. It takes some of the pressure off the senators from the Tech Lobby/healthcare lobby. In fact one of the silver linings in this last week is that nothing at all was done. This is sure to keep the pressure rising in the start of the 110th congress.

I agree that we need to strengthen IV by contributing our time, money. But, to me it looks like most of the successes(how small they are) of IV are making EB3 suffer more. Not anything against EB2 guys, don't start a war please. I think IV should concentrate more on EB3. I have seen vocal EB2 people writing against EB3 in these forums. But do we really have to suffer like this?
I agree completely with vdlrao and pappu. We are doing our best to put lot of efforts to sort this out by volunteering. What is your guess, how many people stuck in GC mess in the DC Metro area? Thousands, right????? We had a State Chapter meeting for Maryland, Virginia and DC and you know how many show up for the meeting ????? Take a guess...15!!!! You guys just know how to yell and scream at this blog. Convert your anger into something constructive......IV is not the President of this country that would go ahead and pass legislation to bring you relief. It is the lawmakers.....This has to be collective effort. I will like each one of you to first donate, volunteer before coming to this site to blame the organization. You should be thankful to the people running this show putting their time and energy for our cause. President of this country is having hard time to pass a legislation on health care and you expect IV with help of couple of people can get you legislative relief with couple of hundred dollars!!!! Guys wake up to the reality and contribute to IV.....Work with your state chapters...There are lot of people ready to take initiative through your state chapters but they find no one supporting them. at some month before OCT 2007 the dates would become unavailable.
what would happen at that time?
say your case was received by USCIS and they have not issued FP notices.
what if they issued FP notices but not issued EAD and/or AP.
would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)

I think the answer is yes, we will get our EAD and AP.
USCIS only looks at your PD while they issue case number (when you file for 485) and next when they approve your case (they issue your GC)
they will issue an EAD and AP for all pending applications. EAD and AP don't need PD. as long as you have a case pending with USCIS you can get new/renewed EAD and AP

Guys,
Ms. Susan Henner, the greatest attorney and person, who help us with free advise, was kind enough to provide me with a contact info to reporter from a Journal News. I spent an hour on the phone with her and explained her the whole story, the problems and our flower campaign. Tomorrow, I will get photographed and we will get in-depth publication on Wendsday.
Please send flowers and send me a private message if you want to get in touch with the reporter. I live in Rockland county.

Whoever the lawmaker was who came up with the idea of allocating leftover EB4, EB-5 to EB-1 ! What? the least wanted category giving away its quota to highly deserving EB-1 ? How low can their thinking go ?
What ? the leftover EB-1 highly deserving visas given to slightly less deserving EB2 ? :)

The point I am trying to make is that things will not improve if we point at each other...IV is a place to come together and fight.
If you read all my posts you would realize that I pointed this issue out in May (trying to predict what would happen to EB3 based on their interpretation). An something needs to be done for EB3 as many people are stuck with their families for several years. All I am trying to urge everyone is to come together and think of a concrete plan rather than doing the "word battle".
Once such plan would be to think what type of EB immigration policy change would we advocate in proposed CIR. (again I am sure discussion about this will heat up when "horses are out of barn"; but I think this is the right time to do it) CIR will surely come again on the floor after elections. We need OUR strategy for it...do we have one??
A strategy that would benefit everyone : may it be EB1, EB2 or EB3.
This is all about looking forward...
And with all honesty, any amount of campaigning from IV or any other organization is not likely to change August bulletin and what USCIS and DOS has planned to do in next couple of months. I have information to support this statement and I will post it soon.

This is what i understand and i might be wrong, and this is specifically from my perspective and i am not representing IV.
For a legal immigrant who has been here for the last 9 years, following the law from day 1, i don't see any hope except IV. I understand this is a political issue, and everything happens on the back-end. There is no time table or time line which can be promised by anyone, because this is all politics. Even anti-immigrants don't do anything everyday. They lobby in the background and try to stop any kind of relief, if any being given to us. They still collect a lot of money. They are also only active when there is something on the table and same goes with IV. Everything goes in the background and when there is something positive they come out and request the community to work on an action item, which in the ends gets a very poor response and undermines all their hard work. IV has an agenda and sticks with it. They have lobbying firms who work on the lines of that agenda. I don't think anybody can promise a time line or timetable regarding anything. They are working on an agenda and trying to get relief for all of us. They can't come out openly every day and say we are working on this and that.
I believe in trying and by supporting IV, i am doing that. If no body is going to fight for us (Legal Immigrants), then we can't expect any relief or i will say not even dream of anything good for us. No one is going to address our plight till the time we fight for it. Ask your friends what have they done till today? If they think giving $1000, can buy themselves a Green Card(so called independence) then i am ready to give them $1500 and will request them to do it for me also and i am sure i can find many fellow IV'ans who can also give them $1500. Its very easy to question someones hard work, but when they will be asked to do something, you wont find them anywhere. Every time they will have some reasons not to contribute or do anything. If they join IV, they are not doing anything good, till the time they don't participate in any activities or action items. If they think sitting and waiting for Visa Bulletins and Processing Dates is the best way to go, then there is no way anyone can help them.
Nobody came to convince me, that IV will get me out of this pain. I understand the problem, which is right in front of everyone and i only see IV as the one and only one organization working to get us some relief. I have met the Core group and i know how dedicated and honest they are. During the rally they were in DC for weeks getting everything worked on, only so that our problem can be highlighted and heard. IV Core spends a lot of time in Washington DC lobbying for our cause. They spend money out of their own pockets. They have families and they end up spending time away from them. Why???? Because they want relief and get our problem sorted. I really salute and appreciate their efforts and the hard work they have put in to come so far.
But we as legal immigrants always end up questioning someones efforts? These questions need to answered by us. If your friends think there life is good and things will fall in place, its fine and they can stay away and go on with their lives as it is going on. But tell them not to criticize and question anybody's hard work and honesty.
At least they can do us a favor, by not questioning what IV does? Rest regarding the funds, IV is a non-profit organization, and the tax returns are available online and can be viewed by anyone.
Rest i hope they wake up and realize that by helping IV they are helping themselves and their families.

EB2 India - Filed Sept 06
140 Approved by TSC in Apr 07
485/EAD/AP Filed on July 2nd at NSC (R Williams 9 :02 am)
LUD on 140 - 08/05
Recd EAD and AP - 09/06
Have not received 485 receipt or FP notice. EAD and AP are from CSC - I recide in CA.

If opinion polls and media coverage are any indication, it appears democrats shall rule
the house.
For us the best congress would be the one which passes SKIL bill.
It was unfortunate that despite Republicans ruling the house, they did not even discuss
anything on immigration, specially for high tech skilled workers, even though SKIL was
introduced by Republican leaders.
I hope they do *something* during lame duck session.

I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? United states postal service. My lawyer sent it on june 29 and to this day it's a mestry to me how it was delivered at 10:10 pm at night. I did not think anybody would accept it. BUt if they were working on 25000 in 48 hours. The only reason i think they took it is to finish the number of visa available.
still It does not mean anything ... they can reject it.
